Quirking a brow she looked to the young female before chuckling darkly. Raising her head she stepped over to the young lioness and looked down at her in a very serious manner-
Who are you, young one and you believe that my mate, is not the king?
A devilish grin creased her lips before she chuckled once more, but in an even darker manner than she had before. Lowering her head she tilted her muzzle to look the young one directly in the eyes.-
I believe that I, The Queen. Would know that my mate, Scar is the king. And that this young boy right here.
-She directed her eyes to her son before directing them back to the young one-
Is our son. Wouldn't you think or do I seem to be lying?
-Her voice became immediately darker sounding at the end when she questioned if she seemed as though she were lying, obviously to get the point across that she was NOT lying.-

Shujaa sat there sticking out his chest proudly as he gave the female a 'told you so' kind of expression. "Mama have you seen Daddy at all?" he asked again wanting to ask him about the branch in the gorge, but he kept that part to himself.

Nuka pads around Pride Rock as Shujaa talks to their mother, not really interested in his brother's affairs. What's so special about a branch anyway? Sometimes he couldn't understand his brother and his antics.

Deciding to look for his father himself, the young prince padded around until he found his father laying under an acacia tree. "D..Daddy?" he whispered just in case he was asleep. "C..can I ask you something?" he asked as he poked Scar's back slightly trying his best not to make him cranky.

As Shujaa walked off she glanced to Nuka before mumbling a few words to herself. With a grunt she sauntered off again, bouncing down off of Pride Rock and walking into the distance, for some unknown reason. Boredom, more than likely. Not wanting to sit at Pride Rock all day long she chuckled darkly as she passed some of the other lioness. Passing death glares and a snap or two just to make them flinch or look at her in terror. How she loved being the Queen, she could do what ever she wanted, with the company of some of the hyenas that is. As it normally would be, a couple of hyenas accompanied her on her mate's command to never leave her side if she walked off. Glancing once or twice at these two beside her, she simply rolled her crimson colored eyes and continued on her path.

Kayani hadn't seen Zira when tehy had approached Pride Rock. Now she stared up into the full-grown lioness's bright red eyes, and felt suddenly tiny and vulnerable. Her ears went back against her head and she shrunk closer to the ground. "I-I'm Kayani," she stuttured, as an answer to the Queen's question. She watched the lioness carefully, worriedly as she asked her why she thought Shujaa wasn't Scar's son, and that she was the Queen. Kayani couldn't speak. She was too scared. She was usually pretty brave, but staring into the eyes of a lioness like this took all her bravery away. She was so...scary. "I-I'm sory," she stammered, and watched as Shujaa suddenly walked off. Kayani slowed backed away from the lioness and ran after Shujaa. She was shaking.

Her grin faded as the young lioness ran away. What an ungrateful child, but the fear. The fear in her eyes. Oh ho ho, what a sight. That girl should be afraid of her, she was the Queen after all. She snickered before tossing her head up and walking to the end of Pride Rock, looked out at the emptiness that was the Pride Lands. A light breeze made it's way across the plains, which caused her short fur to ruffle slightly. As the breeze died away, Zira sat her thin haunches down on the cold stone and scanned around for any source of life. With a quick glance around, she sighed before her wicked grin returned once more.

While gazing around on Pride Rock, Nuka spots a small beetle crawling by, he leaps in the air in surprise and starts chasing the bug, attempting to pounce on it at times but constantly missing. "Stupid bug!" He shouts as he continues trying to get it before it crawls between a crack on the rock wall. Nuka doesn't notice and slams his head into the rock, rolling onto his back and grabbing at his head. "Ow!"

((Use past tense while roleplaying; otherwise it gets all confusing.)) Scar was indeed asleep. He grunted with annoy upon seeing his nap interrupted. The lion stretched his forelegs, extending his curved black claws, and yawning lazily. But he did not get up, nor did he turn around to face his son, who stood behind him.
"Shujaa, I've told you a million times not to disturb me when I'm sleeping." The King growled tiredly.

"But Dad...I wan..wanted to ask ya something." Shujaa said sitting down in front of him, his green orbs locked on him. "I was out playing somewhere..and..well..I saw this branch and it was broke..." he said hoping his father would take interest in what he was saying.

Oblivious of the point his son was trying to communicate him, the lion King rolled his eyes.
"Yes, AND?"
That branches broke was no news. If Shujaa had heeded the first warning, Scar would've gone back to sleep and nothing would have happened, but now that he was fully awake, well, he was not one tad happy about it and you could tell because his tone was already beginning to rise.
Whatever Shujaa had to say, it better was worth it.

"Well..it was in the gorge and I..um...was wondering how it broke.." the young prince replied, not seeing his father roll his eyes. "Could you tell me..please?" Shujaa asked, his own green eyes locking with his father's.

The mention of the place made Scar's heart skip a beat. The panicked herd, the dust, the crunching of wood and the cries of his nephew as he flew through the air... he thought he remembered very well how that branch broke.
"Shujaa, there are many trees in the Gorge." Scar sighed, pretending to cleverly avoid the subject.
"Lions usually don't care much about trees, you know? The branch probably grew too big, and it fell off."

Shujaa shook his head. "No Daddy I only saw 2 of em...." How could a single branch that big fall? There were no trees around the upper area of the canyon, at least not that his eyes could see. "Maybe I should go look for more trees..." he thought as he awaited an answer from Scar.

Scar quirked and eyebrow and appeared confused with his son's sudden interest in botanics.
"Like I was saying, son, trees are trivial unimportant things unworthy of a Prince's thoughts." And with that he took the conversation for finished and hoped Shujaa did, too.
