[F] It is Time

ooc: This is a future thread, hence the [F] so that Outlanders can start posting in here. In this thread Kovu and Vitani are already born and are young cubs at this point.

Kovu tossed and turned in his stump bed, his dark hair tuft swishing to and fro. He opened his eyes slowly watching a few termites fly around inside the mound of the Outlands which was their home. Jumping down from the stump, the young cub shook his body back and forth before padding outside, shielding his emerald eyes from the brightness of the morning sun.

Vitani was already outside, pawing and jumping on a scurrying termite. The female cub let out a large yawn, before going to attack a nearby branch. She had yet to acknowledge her brothers presence, she was glad Nuka wasn't around to disrupt her imaginary hunt.

[Rox]

Kovu's ears pricked up at the sound of a nearby snapping branch. "Morning 'Tani.." he yawned as he greeted her. He plopped himself down next to her, watching as she tugged at the branch. "Whatcha doing?"

Vitani sighed, she had been about to catch her prey a kariboo, well in her mind anyway when Kovu interupted her. She looked at him "Huntin" came the cubs reply as she went back to tugging on the branch, but an idea hit her "Hey Kovu wanna be my prey?"

[Rox]

"P..prey?" Kovu asked. He initially didn't like the sound of that but suddenly an idea popped into his head. "Hey, I got an idea! Nuka's over there right? Why don't we make him our prey?" he smirked as he flicked his tail.

Vitani smirked, crouching low as she whispered to Kovu "Good idea, now be quiet." she hissed the last words as she watched her and Kovu's prey, a sleeping lion not to far ahead. She got herself ready to pounce before questioning Kovu "Ready?"

[Rox]

"Ready!" Kovu whispered back. Crouching low he flicked his tail back and forth moving forward slowly pausing to keep up with his twin sister. "GO!" Kovu then lunged and landed on top of Nuka's back, laughing that he had actually successfully pounced upon his prey.

[Bendari]

"Gah!" The teen shouts when he feels the cub land on his back. "You little termite!" He says before managing to stand again. He turns his red eyes toward his younger "brother" with a look of anger and annoyance. "How good would it feel if I pounced you instead?" He says, scratching a little behind his ears.

At Kovu's mark Vitani leapt into the air pouncing onto the ribs of Nuka, "We got our prey!" she cheered with a chuckle, the bigger lion stalked off out of irritation "Now what?" she asked Kovu.

[Rox]

Kovu shrugged. "Well...we eat prey don't we? But..." he stared up at Nuka. "Nuka's too icky to eat. We'd be itchy all over the place if we tried to." he replied letting out a small giggle. "Wonder where Mom is..." he thought out loud.

[saber]

"Blech! We don't eat Nuka!" Vitani agreed she was actually thinking the same thing where was their mother.

[Rose Petals]

Zira walked into the territory of the forsaken place they called home. She had managed to catch a nearby rabbit for a small meal, now braced carefully in her mouth. She glared at Nuka as she had heard his statement about attacking Kovu and Vitani.

Dropping the rabbit in the middle of her young cubs for them to feast, she growled menacingly at Nuka and threatened, "I told you to hunt this time! If I have to do it one more time, you will be sorry! And don't you threaten Kovu again!" She was in Nuka's face by the time she had finished yelling, and then she turned to her young cubs, and seemed to immediately change her mindset as she smiled.

"Eat up, my little angels. You need your strength." She gave Nuka one more threatening glare as she walked away, going inside their termite hollow to rest.

[Rox]

Kovu just sat there as his mother dropped a rabbit on the ground. As she began to yell at Nuka, like she usually did, he laid down and stared at her, his head on his paws just waiting for the yelling to stop. "Please stop..." he said very very quietly.

[Bendari]

Nuka's ears droop at his mother's scolding. "Yes mother..." He mutters before sulking off, beginning his hunt. He despised hunting, especially since his father said before that it was the lionesses job in the first place. Why should he, a prince, do their work for them? He sighs in annoyance as he continues on, searching for any prey at all in this barren wasteland.

Vitani is pleased that her mother had brought a meal to eat and tucked in immediatley, only stopping momentairly to let Kovu get some and to see where Nuka wanders off to.
