"I..." he had to think of an excuse..and fast. "I don't feel like it right now..and besides, it's too hot to." he replied as he started to walk away. What were his mother and father thinking?! How was he going to lead them, even WITH training? He was a total sissy and a complete coward..
Sitting down on a rock he stared out to the horizon he let out a small sigh. His mother had talked about training, but she still hadn't done anything and he often wondered if it was all a bluff. Nothing but words. The cub laid down and closed his eyes in thought eventually falling asleep.

Aberash only stared at Kovu as he invented some excuses then left. She pinned her ears then kicked a rock with a paw angrily. It looked like he wouldn't come back. Then she glanced back at Vitani, before deciding the safest thing was to go find him.
The lioness cub ran after her friend, only to find him sleeping.
"Hey Kovu!" She demanded, poking him with a paw.

The cub nearly fell off the rock upon which he was resting but quickly caught himself before falling to the ground. "What?" he asked irritably not liking the fact that he had been awoken from his rest while pinning his ears back at Aberash's prodding.

For what seemed like hours the teen plotted. He had to get back at Kovu somehow for taking HIS place as heir. Nuka taps a claw on his head as he continues to plot, before a realization comes to him. Ever since they were ousted from Pride Rock, the hyenas have despised anyone who worked with Scar. That was perfect. All he'd have to do is find a den, a hyena den; the little termite's curiousity would take care of the rest. Yes...that would work quite--- "STUPID TERMITES!" the teen shouts as he begins to scratch feverishly.

The lioness cub was annoyed by the tone of Kovu's voice. On her face was a very grave look, and she frowned.
"Vitani would make a much better leader than you!" She snapped back.
Now, wasn't she the one who was always saying how she was going to spend her life defending this pride? Imagine the disappointment when Kovu's attitude painted such a grim future for her new family.

After a few minutes of scratching, Nuka sneaks off, beginning his search for a hyena den. He had little room for error, he had to make sure the den he found was indeed a hyena den, or his whole plan could fail. After searching for what seemed to him like hours, he finally came across a den that had a hyena outside, gnawing on a bone. A smirk crosses his maw as he turns back around, now his plan could go into effect, he just had to get Kovu to get curious enough to go look for himself. Nothing could ruin this plan, he told himself as he closed back in to the pride's home, sitting at a distance and observing the cubs, waiting for the perfect time to begin his plan.

"O..k..." the cub thought to himself as he watched Aberash storm off after yelling something about Vitani, of which he wasn't concerned with at that particular moment. He decided to pad off somewhere once again to try and find a new place to sleep without being interrupted.

Nuka smirks before walking over to the cub. "Hey Kovu, I found something really cool a little ways out!" The teen says as he sits next to him. "I have no idea what's in it either, you'll be the first one of us to figure it out."

Just what Kovu needed now..Nuka. "That's..great Nuka." he replied distractedly as he started to walk away from the teen, still searching for a spot. Kovu really didn't pay much attention to Nuka's ramblings since they were usually something uninteresting or even idiotic at times.

Nuka trails after the cub as he walks away. "Think about it Kovu, you could find something cool there! Maybe even find a way for us to get back to our rightful lands!" He says with excitement, hoping his plan actually works. "What would Scar think if you did?"

The cub stopped and turned staring up at his elder brother. "Where is it?" he asked, figuring he might as well go if it got Nuka to at least leave him alone.

Nuka turns and points with a toe toward the direction of the hyena den. "It's down that way, just keep it a secret that I told you where it is, it'll make Scar even more impressed with you." The teen says with a wry smile, his plan was actually working!

That did it. Kovu's interest was piqued. He began to walk in the direction in which Nuka pointed him and started his journey. "At least I'll get some place to sleep..." he muttered once he arrived at the cave which was awhile later. It looked pretty big..and to be honest somewhat scary to him. Gulping he took a few paces forward and began to explore.

Nuka smirks after a few minutes when Kovu leaves and goes to where his mother and father are. "Scar, mother! I think Kovu's gone out on his own." He says, hiding his inner joy and replacing it with worry.

"Bakari, you go watch the lions" The hyena muttered as she walked in her den. "Ugh! Why do I always get the worst jobs! I wish I was still at the 'yard with the others!"
Hardly had she crossed the burrows entrance when she smelled something. Recognizing the scents of Scar and Zira, the hyena got immediately on her guard. But she knew that they did not fit in here, and besides there was a different, stronger smell in the earthy air. It was a cub.
She had grown much since last time Scar's Pride had seen her, and she pretty much blocked the whole tunnel with her muscular body. She held her head low, her ears pinned, as she strode forwards. A small shapecame soon in view.
"Kid," The hyena demanded. "What are you doin' in here?"
