Viatni's eyes danced with excitement at her mother's words, "Really! Oh I can't wait, you'll be so proud of me Mother!" Her enthusiasm faded almost instantly though as Scar started coming over.
She stayed silent, her eyes staring furiously at her 'father'. Once again, she was invisible. Vitani was a lioness, therefore, no use to either of her parents even though she knew she would be better then Kovu and Nuka combined! All Vitani wanted was to be like Zira, couldn't they all see that?
The cub decided to follow Kovu instead of staying around Scar. Scar hated her. "Hey, I wanna play too!"

Kovu's rimmed ears perked up as he heard Vitani's voice growing closer and closer. "Hey Vitani." Kovu greeted, watching as she came over to them to join in their root game. "You just missed it. Aberash pulled out a tree that had to be twice her size!" he smiled.

"No way! That is so cool, Aberash. Taking out trees is fun." Vitani laughed, her anger forgotten or at least shoved to the back of her mind.
Vitani crouched down low and got ready to pounce. She leaped into the air and landed on Kovu, "Gotcha, Kovu!" Her blue eyes shone with excitement and happiness. She was always happy when she was around Kovu. While it was fun to pick on Nuka, he never cared about any of them. With mother, it was always about being the best, trying to prove everyone wrong at all times. Then with Scar, it was about always being silent. Seen and not heard. Vitani knew her roles with each and played each to perfection. Sometimes too perfect, to the point where she was never really happy. The only time she could really be herself was with Kovu. Vitani wondered if he even knew that, one day she would have to tell him.

Kovu landed on his back with a slight thud. His emerald green eyes locking with his sister's sky blue ones, still quite in shock about what had just happened. ”Nice one Vitani.." he smiled up at her as he tried to turn back over. "Anybody wanna do anything?” he asked as he proceeded to stretch out his front legs.

Vitani? Did anyone say Vitani? Uh oh. Aberash was like a cobra who had just seen a gang of meerkats nearby -- scared to death, but far too prideful like to let it show. She let go of the root and spat out the little bits of wood left in her mouth. It didn't quite work, she tried cleaning her tongue with a paw, wiping her paw in her chest afterwards.
She sat down, watching Vitani and Kovu from the corner of her yellow eyes. She felt high and mighty after Kovu had pointed out her brave deed.
"Yeah, and that's a thing none of you will ever hope to match. I will grow up to be the strongest warrior of the Pride!" Aberash boasted.

After puncing on Kovu, she rolled off, letting Kovu get back up. The first initial excitement about being allowed to play with Kovu and Averash began to fade though. She had deliberately sounded excited about how Aberash had taken out a tree. The two barely got along because both were deadly and both knew that the other knew.
But being Zira's daughter and Kovu's sister gave her a leg up for once. It was about the only good thing about being Scar's daughter, everyone was scared of her because they all knew she could be the next Queen if Kovu fell short. Her parents just hadn't figured that out yet.
Vitani decided to play just a tad on Aberash's fear of her and said quietly but seriously, "You sure about that?" She looked at the other lioness with confident eyes. She had learned early on that unless she was hanging with Kovu, dealing with everyone else was all a chess game.

Kovu sat up on his haunches and looked between the two females having a slight idea about where this little conversation was headed. "Um..I'll just go..over there." he said quickly as padded towards a nearby rock and sat down waiting for the fighting between the two females to ensue.

Zira paid very little interest in the two lionesses fighting, but her silent mate finally roared between the silences. The name of son, now dead, brought a grimace to her muzzle. The queen had to justify his death and in order for peace to be made, someone had to pay the price. Growling with no concern of Nuka’s future, but the respect of Scar, Zira half-listened to their conversation as a smirk pulled itself across her sadistic purring.
"Nuka, my son," she snickered. "You have Scar's ambition. Such loyalty will one day be rewarded."
Something lurking in her eyes told other wise, but the sudden leap of faith was very unlike Zira. It was a plan, similar with Scar's, forming in the back of her mind. Simply staring at her eldest son with deadly orbs was no reason to fear her... yet.
"My King," Zira continued at Scar. "My lionesses are ready. Should I prepare our attack and return with a feast?"
Zira was getting bored and boredom never ended well. Swiping the dirt with a massive paw, the Queen laughed to her quiet thoughts in her strategic mind.
[ooc: I am so sorry this post is boring.]

Aberash's ears fell flat against her head as Vitani suddenly turned her attention towards her, and with a challenge. She quickly erased any signs of fear from herself before replying, with the same obnoxious confidence of before.
"Of course."
Noticing Kovu beginning to slip away in the background, the cub thought up a plan to direct Vitani's aggression into a different and much more convenient target.
"Is the Prince afraid?" She taunted, allowing her lip to curl into a snarl and showing her teeth.

Scar wrinkled his nose after seeing how Nuka retreated to some corner and lied there like a beanbag. His mind ranted angrily about how un-kingly and unworthy Nuka was and how he couldn't believe he was his son.
Zira's voice brought him back from his bemusement.
"Yes." He said in a low hateful whisper. "And I'll be coming too."
He was dying to see the Pridelands again, but above all he wanted to make sure nobody slipped in case the opportunity of stealing one of the cubs showed up.

Kovu's expression stiffened."I'm not scared.."he retorted as he stood back up staring at Aberash, his emerald eyes narrowing at her. his body tensing.

Vitani's electric blue eyes gleamed as she watched Aberash's face go blank. She heard that confidence come out and knew that neither would back down without a fight. But then the lioness suprised her by challenging Kovu. Vitani kept her eyes on the other lioness but could tell that Kovu wouldn't fight. He never did but this was one of the first times that Aberash had challenged Kovu.
Now she was backing up slightly, it wasn't a retreat, it was just giving the two room to fight. For a second time in less then five seconds, Vitani was shocked. Would Kovu really fight against Aberash?

Kovu's chocolate brown body tensed up, his fur bristling as he faced Aberash. He wasn't going to be teased especially by a girl. Unsheathing his claws, he raked the ground awaiting her first move. "You gonna go?" he asked her, really hoping that she wouldn't and that they could part ways in a peaceful manner.

Aberash laughed inside when she noticed Vitani's interest in the upcoming fight. Well, her initial plan had been to sic Vitani on Kovu, but she guessed this worked as well; she had never thought of the Prince as particularly strong, and this way Vitani wasn't attacking her either. See? She might even manage to win some of her respect if she beat the young Prince...
That'd make it two good impressions in one day. Wonderful.
Aberash didn't even have to think, she crouched then pounced on Kovu, attempting to pin him down with just one move.

The female figure was coming towards him in a flash, and poor little Kovu didn't have time to think! All he did was stand there and crouched down at the last moment letting out a yell while shutting his eyes shut, his yell half tough like, the other, half terror. He wasn't exactly the best fighter in the pride so to speak. When he opened his eyes he saw Aberash on the other side of him. The young cub whirled around and faced her still quite in shock as to what had just happened. He panted a little even though he didn't exactly do any fighting. "Nice job." he stated as he lifted his hind leg to scratch the back of his ear due to the feeling of an oncoming itch.

Aberash missed her initial charge, but she turned around quickly and flattened herself against the dusty ground to block his attack. However, it never happened.
The cub raised her head, green eyes confused.
"So you really ARE afraid? And Scar's training you to lead us?"
