[Scar]

Scar watched the female cub approach him and ask him about the fate of his son. At other time, he would've felt disgust and would have not allowed her to approach him, but the unfolding tragedy made everyone behave as a family, for a change.

"Of course he will." He stated with determination.

Then came in Zira, and asked what was going on.

"I don't know!" Scar snapped, just as confused and alarmed. He then turned towards the hyenas.

"Where's Rafiki? I said I wanted him here, NOW!" He roared, and another team of hyenas bolted off to find the healer.

They were gathered under the Tree of Life in no time at all.

"Mister Rafiki!" Bakari called.

"It's Prince Shuuja! It's an emergency! Come with us! Hurry!"

[Bendari]

Bendari growls in disgust at the hyenas. "You heard him you slugs! Get going before I bite each of you!" He shouts out to the other hyenas near him, he then takes off with them, rushing after the other team.

[Rox]

The mandrill peered down from his work and climbed down the tree with his walking stick and whacked Bakari on the head. "Dont you see that I am wor-" then the words registered in the mandrill's head. "We must go.." he then walked off towards the area that the hyena had come from. Arriving sometime later he stared at the prince who was laying in Scar's paws. "Let me see him.." he said taking the cub as he sat down. "What is wrong with him?" he questioned Scar.

Shujaa looked up in confusion at the mandrill as he began to examine him then ask his father what had happened.

[Scar]

Scar felt an immense relief at the sight of the wise Rafiki. He even nodded a "good job" at Bakari and co.

"He started coughing, then he dropped to the ground, in terrible pain. But he seems to have calmed down now." Scar told him.

Raising his gaze from the cub to the mandrill, he wordlessly asked if he was going to be alright.

[Rox]

"Hmmmmm...." Rafiki thought out loud. "I need to examine him furder...but then again I cannot see what is causing him dis pain." he replied.

Shujaa then began to cough, his entire small body shaking from the force.

At that moment, the mandrill grabbed some nearby grass. "Dis should help relief his pain for the time being until I figure dis out." he replied as he placed the cub back on the ground and walking off towards his baobab tree.

Once his coughing spell had ended, Shujaa tried his best to get up, but he suddenly felt weak.

Flinching slightly at the blurting in her face, she ignored it this once and continued to look at Shujaa. Then turning to the small cub she listened to her description of what happened to Shujaa.-

"He collapsed.."

She thought silently to herself. No no. If that were true, he would have died at birth.. Zira pushed that idea out of her mind and looked back to Shujaa-

"Shujaa, how do you feel now?"

She asked him calmly. Though she was worrying to death and about to scream out herself, she remained calm for her cubs sake.-

[Rox]

"I...I feel alright Mama." Shujaa said before laying down on the ground for a few moments before getting back up again and trying his best to pad back to Pride Rock.

She quickly pressed softly down on Shujaa's back.-

For now, you rest until you feel well enough to walk, don't force yourself.

She spoke in a calm and soothing manner, unlike she had before.-

[Rox]

Shujaa let out a small cry as Zira pushed down slightly on his back back to the ground. Staring up at her he pouted. "I can walk Mama.."

She snorted and shook her head-

"You just stay down and rest for a few minutes."

She looked around at the amount of animals there in that spot. This is quite odd. It's almost as though we've been gathered as a family.. She thought to herself.-

[Rox]

Shujaa plopped back down on the ground and laid there. "Then how are we gonna get home?"

[mistwolf]

Kayani nudged Shujaa softly.
"I'll stay with you," she promised, laying down beside him. Her eyes felt teary, and she tried to wipe away the tears with a paw. She didn't want to loose her best friend. Her only friend.

[Scar]

Not sure of what to do, Scar only watched, allowing Zira to take control of the situation.

After a while, he picked up the grass blades Rafiki had recommended and placed them before Shuuja.

"Eat this. It'll do you good." He said.

[Rox]

Shujaa smiled as he ate more of the grass then attempted to walk home with his family beside him. Night had gone as quickly as the morning sun came and Shujaa had begun wheezing slightly but that didnt stop him from what his father had promised him the day before. Getting up as best he could he padded over to Scar who was snoring away nearby. Poking the lion's back which seemed to do no good he said. "Dad..Dad...Dad.." then he back up about one or two steps and rammed into his back. "Dad.. you promised!" he said staring at the lion with a pouty expression.

Kayani was forced to watch as Shujaa walked away. She knew she could not follow him home. She was not royality. Far from it. She lowered her head and walked slowly to where the lioness's den was, and settled in for the night. But her dreams were plaugued by the same scene over and over again. Shujaa, screaming and collpasing. Finally, Kayani stood, making her way out of the lioness's cave and up onto the rocks of the Pride rock, where she found the king and queen's cave. She curled up amongst the rocks nearbye and finally fell asleep, happy she could at least be near Shujaa if something happened to him during the night, even thought she couldn't be right near him.
The morning light awoken her, and the cries of Shujaa trying to awaken Scar. She waited quietly, listening.
