"Kayani, come along," Ila said to the cub who was laging behind her. Kayani reluctantly quickened her step to catch up to the lioness. Ila sighed as she watched Tama leave. Tama, to, wasn't one of her favorites. She was against Scar's reign, which she resented. But at least she had been nice enough to lend a paw. "Shujaa," Ila placed the cub on the ground near where the rock she had been on. "I want you to stay here. And when I say that, I mean it. Both of you. If I see you running away again, there will be consequences. Understood?"

Shujaa continued to struggle and squirm. "I dont care..." he said as his small chocolate brown body writhed back and forth in Ila's jaws. "Lemme go!"

"Shujaa...."Ila warned, placing the struggling cub on the ground. She stepped on his tail to make sure he didn't get away. Kayani, even though she hadn't liked being forced away from her playing, knew that all this wasn't good for Shujaa. She was devoted to her friend more than anything else, and didn't want to see something like what had happened the other day happe again. She couldn't watch this anymore. "Shujaa, stop it!" she finally said. "Just...do what she says."

"Stop?" he snapped at her. "To stop playing is..is like..like telling a bird it cant fly!" Shujaa was pretty ticked now. Everybody had lately been concerned for his own welfare but now it was just too much. "Just..everybody stop!" Shoving Ila's paw off with all his might, the young prince walked off in a huff wanting to be alone.

"Fine! Go get yourself killed!" Kayani yelled after him, then immediatly felt sorry. She didn't want him to die. That was the last thing she wanted. She looked up at Ila, asking for guidance, but the lioness knew that she had to make it up herself. "Wait..." she called after Shujaa. "I'm...I'm sorry."

Shujaa's words hurt her, and she felt tears in her eyes. "Shujaa, come back! Ila, make him come back!" She turned her blue-green eyes to the dark lioness, begging her to make things right. Ila shook her head. She knew that Shujaa needed a little time to himself. "I can't," she said. "Then get Tama! Or Sarafina! Make him come back!" "No, Kayani, that's not what I meant," she said softly. She put a paw around Kayani. "Shujaa just needs some time alone." "I didn't mean it!" she sniffed, burrying her face in Ila's leg. Ila patted the cub gently on the back. "I know you didn't," she said softly. "But Shujaa just needs some time by himself." "I don't want him to die," Kayani whispered. "Don't worry," Ila whispered. "He'll be fine." I hope.

The young prince wandered around the pridelands, passing his father's troops of hyenas that were guarding the borders as he walked along. "Why can't everybody just let me play...." he muttered as he laid down under an acacia tree, coughing ever so slightly. "Stupid cough...ugh...go away!" he muttered to himself in annoyance.
