Name: Kijana nn Kija (means Youth)
Age: Adult (A little younger than Nala)
Gender: Female
Species: Lion
Outlander or Pridelander: Pridelander
Rank: Young Huntress
History: Part of the first litter born during Scar's reign, Kija's mother didn't have enough milk to sustain her litter and was about to give up on Kija, the runt, when Sarabi stepped in and became her wet nurse to help in the process of grieving over Simba. It became a kind of permanent settlement as things went from bad to worse under Scar's rule and Sarabi came to lean on Kija almost as much as Kija relied on her.
Personality: Considered a quiet lioness, Kija isn't exactly shy, she just prefers to listen and consider before she talks. She has a sharp eye for detail, though sometimes she can get caught up in the little things and miss the big picture. She's fairly protective of Sarabi and very much dislikes the hyenas and their bullying her. She also is distrustful of Simba as she thinks he abandoned his mother and she witnessed first-hand what that did to her.
Prominent Trait: Devotion. Kija's good opinion means an undying friend unless there's a betrayal of trust, then watch out.
Fears: Losing those she loves, betrayal.
Goals: To care for Sarabi to the same level as Sarabi cared for her.
Character Development: Kija, while compassionate, can take it too far and needs to learn that it's OK for her to follow her own dreams and passions beyond caring for others.
Description: Kija is reddish-chocolate brown with a dark grey underbelly, inner ears, and tail tip. She has green eyes and a tuft of grayish-orange fur on her head.
Markings: None
RP Sample:
Kija yawned as her front paws expanded and reached out on front of her, her tail flicking back and forth as she stretched in the dim light of the cave. The sun was just peeking out over the horizon on the savannah and Pride Rock rustled and scraped as it came to life for the day. Kija grinned as Nala escorted an ecstatic young Kiara out of the cave for hunting lessons, tailed by Saraphina, a proud grandmother without a doubt. Tasting the air to determine who was still in the cave, Kija spotted Sarabi a little further in, relaxing in a more protected and comfortable space the older lioness deserved without dispute. It had been months since Scar had been defeated, but Kija could still see the image of the old king batting Sarabi so hard that she'd sprawled out across the rock. Simba, the new king and father to the young Kiara, nudged his mother affectionately before striding out of the cave. Kija lowered her head in respect, he'd saved Sarabi after all, but she still didn't trust this new king. If she was truly honest with herself, Kija knew she was a little bit jealous, too. She couldn't blame Sarabi for wanting to spend as much time with her long lost son as she could, but it still caused a twinge of resentment every once in a while that she now had to share the lioness she loved so dearly.
