Name : Kovu.
Age :
Gender : Male.
Species : Lion.
Pridelander or Outlander? : Outlander.
Rank : Heir.
History : He was born into the outlands, from a rogue male and Zira. After he was born, Scar took him in like his own son. He was next in line to rule the Pridelands after Scar was deceased. But he did not get his way. Instead, Scar and his family were banished to the outlands. Including Kovu. Angry, Kovu now trains to kill Simba and take over the Pridelands.
Personality : A bull-headed, strong willed young fella he does have a soft side. But with the training that will take place that will be hard to come by, as he will turn into a savage, unforgiving lion believing that he should kill Simba and take over the Pridelands. He believes he needs to prove himself to Zira, but since Zira's disappearance he has been making his own plans to take his place and prove to everyone he can rule a kingdom.
He is currently unaware if Kiara is alive or dead, and will remain uncertain of this for some time. Perhaps only Kiara can soften his heart, at which point he will be regretful, will learn the meaning of fun for the first time.. And will actually turn into the lion he was meant to be. A playful, still strong willed, but loving and devoted lion to whom he loves. Yet depression will haunt this lion for some time.
Prominent Trait : He is brainwashed by his outlander pride, believing he needs to prove himself to his family to and to his pride that he can accomplish things.
Fears : He fears failure.. Believe it or not he does fear things, and he is fearful of what could happen if he fails at something. In his life, everything has a consequence. Usually bad. If he fails at his orders, nothing good can come of it. Also, despite how poorly they treat him, he fears losing those close to him. Particularly Vitani, for he loves her deep down. She is not even his sister, but he treats her like she is.
Goals : More then anything in the world he wants to rule a pride with someone he loves. This dream won't be realized until he reunites with Kiara, but until then his dream will be to rule the pridelands.. If Kiara can change his mind, his dream will change to ruling them with her.
Character Development : He will change from cold hearted to a gentleman with a little time and love. It'll take a special heart, particularly Kiara's, to warm him up to the things he is missing in life.
Description : He is a dark brown lion with a mane so dark brown it nearly appears black. He will at one point have a scar over his eye, which by the way are green like grass. He will have a rough, wild mane unlike Simba's and more like Scar's but not quite. He will grow to be somewhat muscular, yet still will have a lanky appearance about him from malnourishment as a cub.

The sun rose on the savannah. The day would proving to be a hot one, if not for the rain. It had been raining for several sunsets and sunrises, so many so that the young prince had lost track. Being a cub and having never seen rain before, he crawled out of the termite mound and put a paw outside the den. Ever since he was born there had been a drought. Now he was seeing rain for the first time.. And as a drop fell onto his paw.. Feeling! Feeling it for the first time!
Withdrawing his paw quickly at the touch of the cold droplet, he found it smelled like the stuff in the big watering hole. It was coming heavily down upon the ground, so much so that the sands and dirt had changed to mud and the river was nearly overflowing. Looking out at the rain, Kovu put his paw out again, and felt the rain on his paw. Withdrawing it again, he couldn't understand what it was. But he wanted to get the termites off his coat. Maybe this could help!
Stepping one paw out of the termite mound den, he felt the rain pitter patter atop his paw as he stepped another paw out, poking his head out. His short mane was immiedetely plastered to his face, his fur feeling heavier. But he didn't mind. For once, the itchy termites were gone! He lept out further into the sands, the puddles everywhere.. Slipping, he slid a little and fell into a puddle of mud and water.
Something was poking him in the back as he fell! It caught him so off gaurd that he growled, and spun around to find that the offender was a mud puddle with a stick in the middle. Grabbing the stick, he found it was a stick that was stuck in the ground.. Which was actually a root. Grabbing it in his teeth, he pulled, shaking it to and thro. It wasn't a play growl but a true vicous snarl. How dare that stick try to take him!
Then he heard his mother calling. Snarling one last time at the root, he scampered off towards the termite mound. Then he stopped just before he came to his mother. He had come to a clear puddle. He saw himself and gasped in anger and despair. She would be upset with him now! Look how muddy his coat was!
Lowering his head, he shamefully walked forward and into the den to his mothers angry words and the prides snickers. Without bothering to ask for a bathe, he crawled up to his bed and laid in it, shivering as a cold wind came in through the openings in the termite mound. He fell asleep, hoping never to see rain again.
