History :
Kayani was one of three cubs of a pair of lions who were the alphas of a pride north of the Pridelands. When Kayani was about 3 months old, her pride was attacked by an enemy pride. During the fight, Kayani hid beneath a fallen tree, and remained their, terrified to come out. She hid there until nightfall, and when she emerged, her pride was gone. Her father, mother and two siblings where left behind, though, dead. Heartbroken, Kayani was forced to leave her family and pride, and look for someplace else. She came across the Pridelands pride, and lionesses such as Sarabi and Sarafina took her in. She lived in the Pridelands during the later part of Scar's reign, and knew nothing of Simba or Mufasa. She befriended Scar's young son, Shujaa, and was devestated when he died from heart failure. It was a loss she never totally recovered from. During an attempted coup on Priderock, her friends Tojo, Nala, Sarafina and Sarabi were all exiled from the Pridelands, and Kayani joined them. In the jungle, she grew into a confidant young lioness, and is determined to take back the Pridelands. She was part of Scar's overthrowing, and now is a loyal and trusted member of the Pridelands, and a friend to the King and Queen. Because of her wonderful way with cubs, Kayani is the trusted babysitter for the pride's children, including the Prince and Princess, Kopa and Kiara. Kiara is a close friend of Kayani, and finds acceptance and advice in the young lioness.
Personality :
Kayani's personality has changed slightly since she returned from the jungle with Simba, Nala, Tojo, Sarafina, and Sarabi. She's brave and loyal to her pride, but she has a tender spot for cubs. She's a gentler lioness than she once was, her independant streak having mellowed to make way for her strong loyalty to her pride. However, there is still a very sensitive spot in Kayani's hear that did not heal since her time in the jungle. And that is her love for her dead friend, Shujaa. Kayani was devestated by his loss, and has still not completly recovered from losing him.

Her prominent trait was once her independance, but now it is her loyalty to her pride and her tender love for cubs.
Fears :
Kayani fears allowing harm come to any of the cubs she watches over.
Goals :
Secretly, Kayani longs for someone to love, and to love her, but she will never tell anyone this.

(Pictured above). Kayani is a golden lioness who has become lean and lovely as an adult. She still sports her brown dorsal stripe that begins in the center of her forehead and runs the length of her back. Her ears are rimmed with black, similar to cub Simba's, and like Sarabi's. Her eyes are a shocking blue-green color, even brigther than Nala's. Her underbelly us a light creamy color, and her tail is tipped with dark brown fur. Her nose, though she is not related to Scar, is the angular "Outlander" nose, as opposed to the typical rounder "Pridelander" nose. Kayani is missing three of the claws from her front left paw, which she lost during the battle against Scar and his hyenas.
Markings :
Kayani's most prominent marking in her brown dorsal stripe, which begins in the center of her forehead and runs down her back. Her ears are rimmed with black.
