Name : Abasi
Age : Adult
Gender : Male
Species : Lion
Already a Pridelander? : Rogue, former Pridelander
Rank : ?
History : As a cub, Abasi was quiet and gentle, maybe a little shy to the point where his father questioned whether he was even capable of being a provider during harsh times. Abasi developed a strong distrust of strangers and even his own pride after one morning of being attacked by a rouge when he was younger. His father, much to Abasi's shock, took care of the menace instead of killing him upon realizing his son's attacker was elderly, sick, and not quite in his right mind when the attack by the waterhole occurred.
Abasi disapproved of this turn of events and as he grew to adolesence drifted apart often and became more solitary. His only company he kept were the young cubs of the pride under Mufasa's reign. They at least were too young to really understand what was beyond their borders (which Abasi explored often on his own) and with more agreeable and lively company, Abasi did not become completely cold-hearted. While the young prince Simba got into mischevious fun with his friends, Abasi would watch them from time to time. Yet being a teenager at this point, he was having the urge to leave and explore other lands.
When Scar returned one evening with the news of the king and prince's deaths, Abasi was quite saddened at such losses. Feeling the need to do something once the hyenas began to appear on their lands, Abasi left without a word to anyone the next evening. Being such an aloof loner for so long, no one seemed to think much of his disappearance. Except for the cubs, in particular Malka. Malka seemed to have had a closer relationship with him than the other lions.
Abasi expresses a great deal of anger towards the sudden shift in Scar's reign, hyenas and lions certainly could not live together. As he travelled beyond the Pridelands borders, Abasi met with other prides and learned of their own customs, gaining new experience as he reached adulthood. As the years passed, Abasi had for a time settled near the currently sparse region of woodlands, and it was during the dry season that he was soon reunited with his friend Malka. Together the two remained close ever since and Abasi has become a teacher of sorts. Malka now a young adult himself, has given him the terrible news on the wasteland that his former home has become.
Now the two need to return and see what they can begin to change.
Personality : Abasi’s greatest strength is his quick wit and sharp tongue. Abasi is a sarcastic and somewhat bitter individual with a lack of direction and an unchanneled revolutionary nature. He doesn’t suffer much company and therefore has few if any friendships. He prefers to live by his own set of rules, even if he isn’t sure of why he puts them in place himself, and although headstrong, his sense of duty overrides his past issues ensuring his reliability and trustworthiness to his pride.
Prominent Trait : Aloof, somewhat cold in demeanor.
Fears : Deep water but can tolerate rain.
Goals : Returning with Malka to the Pridelands, once Scar is overthrown or things change.
Character Development : Will likely come to realize he doesn't have to be so mistrustful of others.
Description : Is entirely black except for his green eyes, 25% larger than the average lion, therefore is not able to hide as well until night falls.
Markings : A scar across his left eye with a few other smaller nicks on his tail.
Role-Play Sample:
A light noise caused his ears to twitch a moment before he slowly opened his sharp green eyes and blinked slowly, the sun sinking low in the sky had momentarily blinded him. The jungle was bathed in a strange light. Yellow at first then changing to purples and reds within the passing minutes. A scurrying in the treetops naturally inclined for his ears to swivel some in pinpointing the disturbance. He lifted his dark head and gazed upward to find it was nothing more than a passing monkey in the treetops. Not paying it much attention afterward Abasi slowly got up and stretched out his strong limbs. Slightly shaking his mane that matched his black fur, Abasi was just a little more alert.
Making his way toward the waterhole nearby, he went to take a long, cool, and deep drink. It was very refreshing that was certain. Sighing a little, he wondered how best to occupy his time. He hadn't been in this area for very long. In fact, it was but a mere two hours since Abasi came upon the lush green jungles. He had been travelling from quite a cold region in the mountains and as he descended lower the atmosphere, not to mention temperature changed greatly. Exploring the jungle was either a good idea to familiarize himself... or bad idea. Abasi heard tales of another rogue lion that dwelled here, however he only dismissed them as local story.
Either way, he wasn't going to take this route lightly.
