Name : Nuka
Age : Teenager
Gender : Male
Species : Lion
Already a Pridelander? : Outlander
Rank : Outlander Pride Member
Personality :
Nuka can be a grumpy and somewhat neurotic lion. Being denied what he feels is his rightful position as heir has left him bitter and jealous. He spends his time trying to prove that he should have been the chosen one, and win the favor of his mother. He is unfailingly dedicated to her, always vying for her attention and approval, but is fearful of her at the same time, cringing away when she becomes angry.
Nuka is often relegated to cubsitter and doesn't relish this role in the least. He is clearly and unabashedly resentful of Kovu for taking his place as heir and his mother's attention. Despite this, deep down he really does care about Kovu and Vitani, but he would sooner die than admit it.
Prominent Trait :
Determination. No matter how many times his mother yells at him, he remains steadfast in his attempts to please her and take Kovu's place as heir.
Fears : Zira's anger, the Elephant Graveyard.
Goals : Prove himself to his mother, become the chosen one.
Character Development : Work in progress. Depends how everything plays out in the roleplay.
Description :
Nuka is a skinny reddish-brown lion, with a sparse, scraggly black mane, chin fur, elbow tufts, and tail tip.
Markings :
Nuka's unkempt appearance and messy black mane make him easily distinguishable from most other characters.
Role-Play Sample:
Nuka felt the sun hot on his back as he prowled around the termite mounds. Pausing for a moment to scratch as the miniature pests crawled through his pelt.
"Darn these termites!" He muttered quietly. The young lion perked his ears up and scanned the barren landscape, searching for any sign of life that wasn't insects. To his chagrin, there was none in sight. he sighed in frustration. Prey was very hard to find here, his own gaunt form could attest to that.
He had intended to find something to bring to his mother. It was a much better use of his time than cubsitting. Maybe providing food for her would help his mother see how useful he was! He could catch her an antelope, or a zebra!
His thoughts were disturbed by a scuffling sound. It was a pair of mice, almost as bony-looking as he. Creeping forward silently, he pinned them under his claws. In his clumsy attempt to finish them off they nearly escaped, but he killed them quickly.
So much for zebra. Food is food, though. Can't be picky in this place.
he thought to himself, picking up the mice by their tails and heading back to the caves. Zira should be back soon. When he arrived he saw Vitani tugging at a tree root, growling the whole time. He set the field mice down near the entrance to the caves and decided to go pester his sister.
