"Won't you cut it out?!" Scar's voice boomed like out of nowhere.
Soon enough, his dark form could be seen amongst the shadows.
"You're beginning to sound like the hyenas!" The old male snarled, sending the two a bitter sideways glare.
And Scar didn't want to hear a word about hyenas. Not after their bitter betrayal, after his Pride's tragic exile, and especially since they stole his lunch just this morning.
Without another word, Scar leaped onto a high plateau, obviously wanting to be left alone. He had much to think here, if he didn't do something soon, the whole Pride might just starve to death... him included.

"Won't you cut it out?!" At the sudden voice, Kovu jumped back and looked around for the source only to find a large figure in the shadows, it was Scar. Immediately closing his mouth, his emerald green eyes peered up at the male as his ears drooped slightly. "W..we were only playing..." he said quietly, only to see the male leave the premises without a word. Clambering up after the male, the young cub peered over at Scar and walked over just to see what it was he was doing exactly, before he looked out at the Outlands around them. "Wow..." he said in awe. "It looks like it goes on forever.." Having had enough with the staring he padded back down to the ground, his last words echoing as he climbed back down the rocks to the ground below. "Wonder who's gonna be King next.."

Zira cursed the day of Simba’s return. While the high king and his pride sat comfortably on their large quarters, Scar’s faithful servants went hungry. Slicing the rock with malice, her black claws slashed against the stone. Pain rushed throughout her body, but the lioness delighted herself in the raw sensation. It was a reminder she will never bow down to Simba. She was the queen, and one day he will beg for her mercy.
The heart of her anger quickly subsided at the voice of her young cub. It was a problem for the queen to admit he was someone else’s. But all she saw was Shuuja and that alone erased any doubt, any memories of her son born to another. Kovu belonged to her.
"Hush, hush, my sweet." Zira sang softly to her young son, once he retreated from his father. Pushing Kovu against her, the lioness cradled her son. "Your father needs time to think. Go along and play," she demanded as she watched Kovu toddled away.
"Nuka!" Zira commanded her older son, despising how lazy he had become. In her own twisted way, she respected that Nuka mourned for the loss of Shuuja, but she expected more from him. "Watch Kovu. I don’t want him wandering off alone."
Zira was gentler when it came to Kovu, but if she wasn’t harsh with Nuka, he would never listen to her. "You," the lioness demanded, calling out for Dotty. "You will watch out for them. I don’t trust Nuka’s ability to fight."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dotty noticed the edge in her queen’s voice. This morning began so peaceful, and now Zira was scowling at her to babysit an incompetence lion and a playful prince, whom doesn’t know the meaning of the word danger.
Sighing, only quiet enough so her Queen doesn’t hear, Mahari trotted after the Prince once he disappeared. While her stomached growled, a sound she became use to hearing, Dotty thoughts returned to the queen. Zira was always a lioness very difficult to get along, but lately it became almost impossible to please her. Dotty did what she needed to do, but she often found herself the subject of Zira’s punishment.
Trying to understand Zira was like asking the Kings to put food in their stomachs. Impossible and undeniably stupid. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zira scowled at the lack of loyalty. More and more outlanders were slowly realizing that maybe Simba has been the rightful heir. And now that doubt has swept into the pride’s mind, Zira found herself more and more tempted to force the loyalty back into their hearts by fear.
Turning her vicious eyes to the rightful King, her gaze immediately fell from out-right pissed-off to satisfaction. Her slender body jumped on top of the flat terrain and sat comfortably a few feet where Scar laid. The Queen was only tender enough to display respect to her mate, and him alone could ease her worried mind.
"Simba won’t be king for long." She spoke confidently, reassuring one day he will sit on the throne again. "The Pride will realize Simba wasn’t raised to be king, that you are the only one qualified."
Zira’s mind was already calculating a plan to destroy Simba, but her word was not final. It was Scar who would be the first one giving orders.

Kovu's body was suddenly whisked close to his mother as he walked along, her words reassuring. Nodding, Kovu then walked off to go and play, since he was feeling rather bored since Scar had yelled at them, Kovu decided to take a little stroll. He'd never been beyond the pride's borders before so he walked straight past them and ended up in a murky and desolate swampy area. "Not much here..." he thought as he looked around and began to paw at a stone nearby. At least it was SOMETHING to play with and on the plus side it was out of the heat of the scorching Outlands sun.

Nuka follows after his brother as he goes for a stroll in the barren outlands, complaining to himself most of the way, in a voice only he could hear. "Why do I always have to watch him? We're not even related!" The teen continues babbling to himself, completely stopping with watching Kovu play, but thankfully Dotty was with them just incase something like this happened.

Kovu continued to paw at the stone and soon looked for something else to do, though when he turned around he was surprised at the fact that Nuka and Dotty were there behind him. "W..what are you guys doing here?" he stammered.

"Mother sent us to keep an eye on you." The teen says as he lays himself down, laying his head down on his crossed paws. "Don't even think about going anywhere without us, or you'll be in trouble." Nuka warns, hinting toward the possibility that Zira would be mad at the cub, but most of all he was saying that to keep himself out of trouble.

"But I can take care of myself...." he protested as he looked across the river. "What's over there?" he asked, his attention shifted to the Pridelands.

"A place we can never go back to." Nuka says, the teen looking toward Priderock in disgust. He witnessed their exile first hand, unlike Kovu, the exile caused him to have a great hatred for Simba. He just walked up and kicked them out of their home, and to his eyes when he was a cub, he was evil, and that thought carried over to his teen years.

Scar's green eyes rose to meet Zira's red ones. He wished she was right, but deep down knew that the lionesses back at Priderock would probably follow an aardvark as their King as long as it meant getting rid of the hyenas.
Simba would be King for long. He wouldn't, but he would hardly occasionate his own fall. If they wanted their kingdom back, they'd have to win it themselves. But how? There only seemed one viable option... And that was: storm in, kick them out, and finally live happily ever after.
However, there was another problem: the Outlanders, half-starved as they were, were in no shape to fight against the strong and healthy Pridelanders. The loyalty of some of them, also, left lots of room for improvement.
But that was to be expected. I mean, what's the good of serving a King and a Queen, forming part of a Pride, when you get none of the benefits from such? Namely, food. The food problem was indeed a severe one, but Scar already had a plan to deal with it... a rather desperate one at that.
After a long, bemused pause, the King spoke:
"Zira, find your best lionesses. The prey here is too scarce. We will raid the Pridelands tonight.
But don't kill them there. Simba would know... and he would strengthen the border patrolling... rather, bring them here. We will do like we did in the Pridelands during the drought.
We know the terrain well. And if we capture any of Simba's cubs... the Kingdom is ours!"
Little Aberash had joined the caravan of babysitters. When Kovu inquired about the Pridelands, she came forth.
"Oh yes!" She agreed with Nuka. "And I heard lionesses say, the lion who's boss there, Simba, will eat you on sight. That's because you're Scar's son." The cub nodded, wide-eyed.

"I bet I can take him on..." Kovu replied staring across the way before deciding to walk over. "Maybe there's somebody else to play with over there too.." he thought as he hopped up onto a log which connected between the two lands like a bridge.

Nuka sits down while Kovu wanders around, believing that since Dotty's there, he wouldn't have to worry as much about watching the cub, though he didn't really care. Kovu wasn't Shujaa. To the teen, Kovu was just another termite in the outlands. He still believes that he will be the heir to the throne, but this was just his belief, he couldn't read his father's mind.

"Oh yes, oh yes??" The little lioness hissed. She didn't like how Kovu appeared not to care about how scary Simba was. Kovu always liked to act big and tough... and that was her job.
"Well, if you're as tough as you say, show me!" The Dusty cub snarled as she lunged at him.
Now he didn't have CHOICE but to finally pay her attention.

Letting out a yell of surprise as the female lunged for him, Kovu ducked low to the ground, and just in time, a smirk crossing his maw as Aberash flew over him. "Too easy." he replied flicking his tail and heading back over towards the log. Hopping up onto it, the young cub trotted upwards and made it about halfway up the log towards the Pridelands, inching ever closer.

A spark of wickedness flashed across her blood red eyes, a lust of power quickly returning to Zira’s twisted mind. Her tail coiled around her tender body and purred sheepishly towards Scar’s fascinating plan. It was an honor to follow a fearless leader. It was a pleasure to obey his every command. Zira was ready with cruelty and it was time to take back the Pride Lands.
"Yes, your highness." The lioness hissed with a dipped of a short bow. "We will be ready by nightfall."
Like a cunning snake, she slithered away unnoticed. The bulk of her frame was slender, but the malice in her powerful steps was unmatched. King Simba will one day fall and the reign of Scar will return.
The dust in the huntress eyes only enhanced the redness. Some lions thought she already was beyond madness due to the recent death of Shuuja, but they were all wrong. Revenge burned in her heart and the so-called king will know what it’s like to lose a cub as an evil plan formed in the labyrinth of her mind.
Her sleek body expertly avoided the mounts in the tallest termite mound where she and her mate resign. A thick growl from her throat echoed throughout the caverns, as a summoning of her toughest lioness was demanded. Scything the dirt with onyx dark claws, her sharp fangs smiled venomously in the dark.

Dotty obediently followed the large supply of rugrats, roaming heavily off course. Once she jumped onto a small plateau, thankfully provided by the Outlander’s newest slaves the termites, Mahari gracefully laid with her paws floating from the cliff.
With not a single hyena in sight since the recent banishment, Dotty and the outlanders turned to the termites as their servants. As regal cats in the Savannah, Dotty had noticed they often rely on other animals for their care.
Snickering at her quiet joke to herself, her observant eyes watched the movement of the two young cubs and the aloof teenager. Aberash was none too sympathetic to the young prince as she challenged him to a playful duel. But the sight of the roaming Kovu quickly had the lioness to her paws.
Catching up wasn’t a difficult task. Instead of carrying Kovu away by the scruff like Zira would have done, Dotty blocked his view and dropped her dust-coated body to his level.
"Are you trying to be killed?" She asked impatiently, though a vicious smirk was slowly winning over. Her tailed lashed out as her eyes continued to watch the curious wanderer and his personal playmate.
"The scruffy female is right," Mahari added as her rounded ears pressed gently across her skull. "One step into the Pride Lands and your fate is doomed. You’ll never see your family again, not to mention you’ll be putting us on death row." Dotty cringed at the thought of what Zira and Scar would do if they found out it was she who was responsible of Kovu’s disappearance.
Shifting uncomfortably, missing the thrill of hunting, the temporary baby-sitter merely laid there in attempts at stopping the lion child from doing anything stupid.
