Closer to cats than dogs, most hyenas hated water. But Bakari wasn't like most hyenas. Firstly, she had that wonderful leopard coat. Secondly, she was crazy (although some wouldn't see that as unusual). Third, she mostly lacked the aggression hyenas were known for. And last: she LOVED water.
Most lionesses were aware of the hyena's last personality trait. Which one had been spared from her merciless tidal waves? Not even Zira. That had been an extremely hilarious episode similar to the one in the graveyard, but maybe not so funny in the end for Bakari (although, fortunately, she was the Clan's fastest runner).
"Cannonball!" A merry battle cry echoed through the empty savannah.
A hyena-blur sped trough the dusty slope and leaped in the water, rising up so much of it you could almost see the dry bottom by one moment.

Shenzi shrank back from the watering hole as Bakiri rushed by her. In fact, she had completely turned and began to run, ready to start scrambling across all of the other hyenas near her.
"Move it! Now!" She hurridly yipped, before tripping and tumbling into the nearest hyena. But it was too late. As the matriarch pushed herself to her feet, the waves from Bakari's cannonball hit her right in the face.
"Baraki." She growled, with a closed jaw. Her yellowish teeth were bared, and a tuft of wet, shapeless fur hung in her eyes. Even her 'mane' hadn't been spared by the water.

Uh oh! Was that... could it have been... the Matriarch? Just returning from helping Vangr round up some zebras, Bakari had been to excited to get to the pool like to look at the hyenas there present.
But she coud recognize her Matriarch's growl, even under the water. Bakari's head broke the surface, wearing a goofy grin. She pushed aside her black mane with a paw to uncover a golden eye.
"Yes?" She said as politely as she could, biting her tongue not to burst laughing at Shenzi's new hairdo. Which by the way was pretty similar to hers.
