Scar: ((Hey everyone! I separated this from The Climb because it was getting VERY confusing.)) Shujaa: Shujaa had fallen asleep, breathing lightly under the tree. But to his misfortune somebody else had his eye on the cub. A hungry snake was above him. Bringing it's tail down to the ground, the snake coiled up the cub who groggily stared at it. "A bit on the sssskiny side of ssscrawny..but...I suppose you'll do.." The cub tried with all his might to struggle and call out for assistance, but..he felt to weak to. "Help.." he called out quietly as the snake tightened its grip on the cub. "Oh Hush..there'sss nobody to save you now my little snack..." the serpent hissed. Mistwolf: ((ooc: I hope it doesn't ruin your plans if Kayani comes looking for Shujaa, Shujaa. Since I'm connecting this with the "Royal Duties" rp where he snapped at her.)) Kayani sat still, watching Ila. The lioness had been dozing for what seemed like forever, and Kayani decided she must be asleep by now. She had to find Shujaa. She had to apologize. Slowly, she stood and crept around her sleeping babysitter. Kayani couldn't blame her. It was an amazingly hot day. I have to find Shujaa, she thought determindly as she leaped her way up the steep sides of the elephant graveyard. Some bones gave way under her feet, but Ila didn't stir. With a final breath of releif, Kayani leaped onto the flat land. "Shujaa!" she yelled, trying to track down her friend.

Nope it doesnt at all )) Shujaa's ears pricked up as he heard Kayani's voice call his name. Struggling to get free from the coils the cub squirmed with all his might which just made the snake chuckle. "Silly child...." he said as squeezed tighter around the cub's body. "Dont want you getting away now do we?" the serpent snickered as he brushed Shujaa's hair tuft back with the tip of his tail, which Shujaa tried to bite. "Ooh!" the snake exclaimed. "Cant have that..." With that the snake wrapped the rest of the coils around the cub's mouth. "That'sss better."

Kayani paused and sniffed at the air. She caught her friend's scent on the wind and quickly started towards it. He hadn't answered her call. That was strange. She made her way through the savanna grass hoping something hadn't happened. Finally she stopped again and looked around. What she saw made her heart leap in her chest. Shujaa was being strangled by a snake. Her first instinct was to run, but this was Shujaa. Her friend. "Shujaa!" she cried, her ears laying back against her head, her eyes determined. She leaped up, growling at the snake, the hair on the back of her neck raised. "Leave my friend alone," she hissed.

The snake peered down at another cub below. "No...I dont think I will..." it hissed at Kayani. The serpent was too far up for the cub to get to anyway so it didnt bother to worry. "GO GET HELP!" Shujaa yelled which only came out as a muffled sound.

Kayani hissed at the snake and slapped it across it's scaly face. "I'm gonna get someone who'll kill you!" she yelled at it. She looked at Shujaa. "I'll be back!" she said. She turned and ran as fast as she could down the hill.
All he could see was blackness. His head felt like it was filled with bird feathers, and it throbbed horribly. He groaned, and his blue eyes blinked open. But he couldn't see anything. A chill of panic swept through him, as he wondered if he was blind. But then he saw the sun just filtering through the rocks and snow above him. He wanted to move, but he was so tired. His mind started to drift back to sleep.... "To-jooooo!" He jerked awake. He didn't know how long it had been since he'd fallen asleep. It could have been minuetes, hours, or even days. He heard scratching above him and lifted his still-aching head. Who was that? Was it someone coming to kill him? To finish him off? Or was this all a dream? Then he caught the scent. It was faint, but somehow it worked its way between the rocks to him. Bakari? Painfully, he lifted his paws and began to scratch at the snow and stone above him, trying to give Bakari a hand. Or a paw. More sun filtered through the rocks and he knew he was close. He hoped Bakari could finish the job. He just didn't have the strength.

Tojo ignored Bakari. He heard Nala's voice, and he had to get her out. He crouched down and began clawing at the snow, unearthing rock after rock. "Nala!" he called. "Nala! You'll be okay! We're getting you out!" He finally struck a rock he couldn't move easily. He pushed it with all his might and finally looked to the hyenas. "We have to get this off of her," he said. "If we shift it the wrong way, it could crush her."
"ILA!!!!!!!!" Ila awoke to her name being screeched across the savanna. It sounded like Kayani, and when she looked over, she realized that the cub was gone. Ila leaped to her feet. How could she have been so stupid? Kayani was gone! "Kayani?" Ila called, searching for the cub. It didn't take long. A tawny rocket shot over the side of the elephant graveyard, and a panicked Kayani ran to her babysitter. The fear in the cub's eyes scared Ila. "I-Ila! Please! Shujaa....Ila! I don't know what to do!" The cub could barely get her words out, and her face was tear-stained. "Kayani, what is it?" Ila said, the fear rising in her own throat. What had happened to Shujaa? Instead of answering, Kayani tore off up the rim of the graveyard and Ila pounded after her. Her heart was racing inside her chest, as she struggled to follow the small cub. She almost tripped over her when she stopped. "Shujaa!" Kayani screamed. Ila looked to where the cub's blue-green eyes were transfxed and gaped. Shujaa was surrounded by a snake. "Shujaa!" Ila yelled and leaped into action. In strides she was down on top of the snake. She reared onto her hind legs and slapped the wicked reptile on its head. 'You get the heck off that cub!" she yelled at it. As Ila fought the snake, Kayani could only stand, frozen with fear as she watched her best friend being suffocated by a snake.

The serpent looked at the cub then at Ila, let his prey go and bared its fangs preparing to strike at the lioness, which caused Shujaa to fall out of the tree, his breaths suddenly going very slowly.

On a walk, yet again, the Queen silently sat on her haunches while listening to the distant noises that were the cubs and Ila. Though upon Kayani's abrupt return and word of her son, the lioness quickly followed after The two. By the time she gt there, Shujaa was upon the ground, breathing shallowly.-
"SHUJAA! NO!"
The lioness looked worriedly at her son as she quikly strod over to the cub. She then licked her son's cheek multiple times-
"Shujaa, please speak to me! I can't bare to lose my son.."
SHe looked sadly at her son before anger over took her being. Snapping her head at the tree, Zira roared her anger before quickly making her way up the tree and to the branch above the branch where the snake was. Extending her claws, she jumped down and landed right on the snake's body, knocking Ila, which was right beside her, off the branch and onto the main place where Rafiki's medicinal supplies were. Lifting her left paw, she slashed at the snake, ripping a bit of the scaley skin open.-
"DIE YOU IDIOTIC FOUL BEAST!"
She cried and she continues to bite and claw open the snake's body. The anger fueling her to continue to keep up the relentless attack.-

The snake tried its best to fight but unfortunately, it was too much. Claws came at it but eventually it fell to the ground.
Shujaa, meanwhile, laid there, his eyes half closed as his mother licked his cheek. "M..mom?" he said weakly.

Covered in the snake's blood, she was panting before jumping down and returning to her son. Her voice was low, as she was sure he was not going to survive this. SOftly, she licked his cheek and murmured-
"Shujaa.. Mom is here darling..Are you alright?"
Her eyes slowly filled with salty liquid. SHujaa... She thought quietly to herself.-

The cub coughed a few times while laying in his mother's paws, his chest rising and falling slowly. "I feel sleepy Mommy..." he said while his expression was half lidded.

She lays her head softly above her son's chest and nuzzles him. Silent tears slowly overflowed from her eyes and rolled down her cheek and onto his fur.-
"Then close your eyes and sleep Shujaa..Remember..Your mother always loves you.. As does your father and friends.."
She sniffles and nuzzles him and begins to hum a soft melody, knowing that her cub would soon depart from the world.-

Soon afterward, the young prince passed away peacefully in his sleep. Rafiki paused in the distance shaking his head at the fact that he was too late to save the child. Walking over slowly to the female the mandrill stood there. "I am sorry...is dere anyting I can do?"

She swiveled an ear towards the approach of the mandrill. At the moment, she was too filled with sorrow at the death of her son to do much of anything. But then she started to think. It was the monkey's fault for going away that the snake struck in the first place. It was the Monkey's fault.. Monkey's fault! She rose to her paws, still covered in dry blood. A low growl manifested within her throat as the Queen turned towards the Mandrill.-
"You..YOu did this to my son! If YOU didn't go away HE WOULDN'T BE DEAD RIGHT NOW!"
Quickly extending her claws she slashed towards him and slowly began to circle him as though he were a piece of prey, or an enemy. This monkey would die at her claws and no one elses..-

Leaping backwards the monkey stares at the female and suddenly pulls his stick out and whacks her hard on the head. "Stop dat! You don't slash at Old Rafiki...." he muttered as he walks back to his tree.
