Saber was crouching as he watched a field mouse, innocent and small. He was gearing up to pounce, as he continued watch the defenseless creature. With powerful push off with his back legs he flew towards the mouse, but something distracted him for a split second and his landing wasn't precise and he tumbled, head over heals. He huffed as he stood up, he looked at the mouse as it scurried a little away and ran back, mocking him...well he thought it anyway, he growled and the mouse ran off. Saber began to walk towards Pride Rock his tail and ears down.

The dark grey-green storm clouds hovered above the Priderock. It didn't take a genious to know something bad was going to happen. The swirling mists of sickly color was what the pair of blue-green eyes were set on, their strange hue and shape being reflected in the two orbs of a young female lioness.
Kayani was no genious. But she knew something bad was going to happen.
The pounding of her paws on the squishy, rain-gorged land seemed to mix with the pounding of her heart. She'd been running for what seemed like forever. Somewhere along the way from the jungle back to the Pridelands, Kayani had lost track of Sarabi. She wasn't sure where the older lioness had gone, but she was sure she could take care of herself. What Kayani was really concerned with right now was getting home.
Kayani was no mathamatician, but she knew that Tojo+Simba+Nala+Scar did not equal Good.
But she was so worried about getting back and maybe even prevenitng a catastrophe, that she ran right smack into a young male lion. Kayani didn't see him in time, and before she could stop, she careened right into him. Letting out a cry, she tumbled head over tail before landing in a heep in the muddy ground. She rolled onto her stomach, and shook herself, trying to get some of the mud off. Surprised at what had just happened, she glanced around. Who had she run into?

Saber was a little stunned as something...or someone plowed into him. He wasn't sure what but found himself lying on his stomach, legs sprawled out at the side all over again. He huffed and small piece of his fringe blew upwards as he did. He stood up, shook himself and then sniffed catching the smell of who bumped into him, a lioness not much younger than himself he followed the scent walking up to the young female.
"Are you okay?" he asked slightly taken back by her beauty. Not that he hadn't seen a nice looking Lioness before but this one was diffrent she was breathtaking.

Kayani pushed herself to her feet, and gave herself one last shake. A lump of mud flew from her coat to hit the shoulder of whoever she had run into. Then she heard the voice. She turned to see who was speaking and gaped. A young male lion, not much older than she was, was speaking to her. And he was...handsome.
Then she saw the mud she'd splattered on his coat.
"I'm so sorry!" she gasped, trying to use her tail tuft to take the mud off of his shoulder. "I was just trying to get home, and must of slipped or something..."
Her attempt to rub off the mud just spread it around some more, and she stopped, dropping her tail and looking down, compeltly embaressed. He had every right to be mad at her. For all she knew anyways, he was one of Scar's lookouts, and could kill her.

Saber watched the lioness as she shook herself, her golden fur shiny and...well now a little muddy, Not that he was worried after all he was caked in mud as well. A small amount of the mud from the lioness landed on the one place he found hard to get muddy, his shoulder. Saber chuckled to himself as the lioness tried to wipe off the mud, he realized she thought because he works with Scar he may kill her, but Saber never had the heart.
"Don't worry, a bit of mud never hurt anyone." Saber replied smiling, he simply used his own tail to wipe the mud off.

Kayani still felt a bit embaressed. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" she asked, trying not to stare at him. He was reall...handsome. ANd muscular. ANd nice. She had been in the jungle for a year among two lions who were both fighting for the same female. And it wasn't her. But Kayani hadn't ever really thought about it. She'd been too wrapped up in the death of...
Shujaa.
What was she doing? Flirting with this male! She had loved Shujaa. Sure, they had only been cubs, but she had adored him. Her heart belonged to him, and he had been taken to soon! She shouldn't be going along with another male! What would Shujaa think?
Besides, she needed to go to the Priderock. Something terrible was probably happening!
"I, uh, have to go..." she said, backing away from him. But she really didn't want to go.

"You didn't hurt me." the young lion replied, noticing how the lioness was trying not to stare.
Saber was entranced by the lionesses eyes, to him they were bright and beautiful but somehow pained, he watched as she backed away, he was clueless as to why she did this but he didn't want the young Lioness to leave and he wanted to go wherever she went, and thought of an rather clever way in his opinion,
"Well let me accompany you to wherever it is you have to go, there are some nasty creatures out there." he offered a smile crossing his face.

Kayani was surprised at the lion's suggestion that he came with her. She was sightly afraid of him, unsure whose side he was on. After all, she had once trusted Ila as a friend, and then she had turned against Tojo. Could she trust this male? She'd never seen him before. What if he was for Scar, and found out? Would he kill her?
"I don't know..." she said, nervous. She wondered where Sarabi was."It's just, I've been away for a very long time, and I have some friends who may need me..." She looked towards the Priderock, then turned back to the lion once more.
"Is Scar still king of the Pridelands?" she asked. She thought she knew the answer, but there might be a chance that he had been overthrown while they had been in the jungle. Then their mission wouldn't be so difficult.

Saber thought as the lioness seemed unsure about his offer, What has this lioness been through? She seemed nervous around him, perhaps it was the fact he was linked with Scar, Saber decided to ease the lionesses nerves,
"You can trust me! I won't hurt you." Saber said gently, sitting down to show he was harmless.
Saber wondered who the lionesses friends were but the thought quickly when she asked about Scar's rein. It took him by surprise, surely this lioness knew Scar still ruled?
"Yes, but I tend to avoid the pridelands since there seem to be more Hyenas" Saber said shuddering at the thought of the dog like creatures.

"He is?" Kayani's voice was very dissapointed. If Scar had been dead, maybe there would have been a chance that Simba could take his thrown peacefully, without the large battle. But now those thoughts were gone.
But what the young lion said shocked her. He stayed away from th Pridelands? Did that mean he didn't work for Scar?
"So, you don't live here?" she asked with interest.

Saber studied the young lioness, as she spoke. He thought she was amazing and very nice, when the lioness seemed slightly dissapointed that Scar still ruled, he wondered why but wouldn't question it. He simply stated "You apparently don't like Scar."
He was wondering why she seemed suprised by the fact he stayed away from the Pridelands. His tail was swishing around as he thought about her next question "I don't really live anywhere, I wander round and wherever its dry thats where I sleep."

Kayani heard his words and immediatly thought back to the time long ago when she was a loner herself. After her parents and her siblings were killed, she lived alone, doing much of what Saber now described.
"Yeah, I know what that's like," she said softly.
"Look, it was nice meeting you, but I really have to go. My friends...well, I need to go..." She stepped around him, though found it hard to take her eyes off of him. She wondered if she'd see him again...
If she survived this.

Saber watched her leave, his eyes locked on her. He was in conflict with himself, 'should I go with her? Or not' was the question in his mind, and with a final decision he ran ahead and stood in front of her.
"Let me escort you back, you know just incase!" Saber insisted his ears twitched as he listened to his surroundings.

Kayani cocked her head to one side, mildly amused, despite herself and her situation. He wanted to come with her. She'd never really had that happen before.
"Okay," she said, with a small smile. After all, what could it hurt? He didn't seem like he wanted to kill her, and if there were any hyenas around....well, she could use the protection.
"I have to get to Pride Rock," she told him. "Watch out for hyenas."

Saber smiled, glad the lioness had accepted. He smiled as she cocked her head to the side, this lioness was beautiful.
Saber nodded as she told him where she wanted to be, though he had to supress a shiver at the thought of his biggest fear...hyenas.
